Here's a quick update on the status of how soon we'll see ranked PVP. I don't know when Patch 1.2 is, but in the numbering scheme is shouldn't be too far out.

Champion Bags now always contain 15 Centurion Commendations AND 7 Champion Commendations. Battlemaster Bags now always contain 15 Champion Commendations. So Centurion gearing up progression for new level 50s is increased significantly and Champion gearing up progression will be steady.
That being said, the current interim 'gearing up' system will change significantly when we introduce Ranked Warzones (aiming for Game Update 1.2). Stay tuned for more details on that.
It's obvious from comments here that the patch note is not specific enough, so we'll get it updated before the patch goes to the live servers. Here are some specifics:
Champion Bags now always contain 15 Centurion Commendations AND 7 Champion Commendations. Battlemaster Bags now always contain 15 Champion Commendations. So Centurion gearing up progression for new level 50s is increased significantly and Champion gearing up progression will be steady.
We do still intend on adding more intro level 50 PvP items as well as change how Battlemaster Commendations operate toward the same 'steady' goal. It's just the scope of that change was more than could be done in a weekly patch as it included vendor changes, conversions to existing commendations on players already, etc.
That being said, the current interim 'gearing up' system will change significantly when we introduce Ranked Warzones (aiming for Game Update 1.2). Stay tuned for more details on that.
The Star Wars Chapter of LotD is making great progress, having good times, and enjoying a quality MMO.
Having a blast with this game, and I can see this is a title LotD will be sticking with for a long time. Bioware will clean up their bugs, and soon start adding even more great content.
We've only had enough people to raid for about a week now, and we've already downed 5/5 raid bosses. All raid content cleared until the reset Tuesday. I am very proud of our raiders working hard to get geared up, and especially our raid leader who is the best we've had since I've been a member of LotD. Our raid team has gelled, and complete the raids in a calm efficient session.
We haven't had enough people level 50 to get together for a 16 man raid, but now with 24 level 50s and 26 people in the 40s, we're going to be trying the 16 man hard modes very soon. We are planning to run an east coast and west coast raid team to accommodate as much of the guild as possible.
After careful consideration and discussion with friends and our internal leadership, LotD has opted to remain on the server assigned by Bioware. Our server is almost completely balanced, and we know from past games that a server with a good faction balance is an optimal choice. We hope that our friends and enemies will stay on the Helm of Graush Server, but we will not be moving at this time. We have 1800 Empire and 1700 Republic members froma assigned guilds, and we'd love to see more republic come to our server.
In the past LotD has participated in, led, or helped to coordinate a lot of guilds to go to various servers, but crushing queues always followed. Bioware has attempted to balance all the servers based on faction choices by guilds that registered with their guild program, and any guild that desires to move has the potential to throw their new server choice into a severe faction imbalance as well as endure horrible queues.
We will not waste our early access sitting in queues, and I would like to remind all of our friends that SWTOR, counting digital sales, is set to have over 2 million people entering the game in the next 10 days. Think about that before moving.
The Bioware guild matching and assignment system has put us on the "Helm of Graush" PVP server. We were working with a horde of PVP guilds to ensure we would get some good competition on the server, and it looks like Bioware matched us with about half the guilds we were expecting. Upon initial review our server faction balance appears to be Empire-1823 players / Republic-1675 players so it is slightly tilted in favor of the Empire. If you are a Republic guild looking for action, bring your ass over the Helm of Graush server. I also just saw that Condemned is on our server, so we look forward to smacking them around in another MMO.
