We've had great fun and good success the first month of our LoL Chapter. Many friends have been met and we're looking forward to meeting many more. A consistent 15-20 players are online on unscheduled nights, our activity level is shining. Total chapter roster is in the mid-20's, and more people are joining daily! An increase of our player pool will occur over the next month as we advertise recruitment on various LoL community outlets. Our goal is to form a solid League of Legends Community. A home where players can join together, play some good games and have a laugh with friends.
Our two ranked teams are shaping up to be great competitors. Both teams have been practicing weekly and succeeding in most of their matches, achieving a win rating of over 50%. As the month progresses, our teams will be working hard to increase their ranked ratings. And with the bigger pool of members we plan to have after our recruitment drive, LotD may consider adding a third ranked team to the chapter.
Keeping competition up, we held a CS competition for our members, "The Great CS Race". It was a close one but Jbigg was able to hold off Lake with a total of 133 cs to 126 cs in a 10 minute period. Jbigg was awarded a $20 RP card for his achievement. We intend to have more fun events and prizes for our members on a monthly basis. Who doesn't like free stuff?
Those who are interested in coming to play with us, please don't be shy. We have many different levels of players and will always welcome a new player with open arms. This game is friendly to all styles of players, casual or hardcore. With nightly play, LotD is able to cater to everyone equally, giving all of our players the ability to play together as one guild.
Lords of the Dead Wishes You The Best This New Year Has To Offer!
It was a favorite time for us here, families and friends coming together to celebrate the end of this year and begining of the next. Busy as we were with life, we're back to business as we look forward to some more great GW2 moments.
We expect server wide Wvs3 attendence to return, with the time commitments shifting off of real life back to this hobby we all enjoy. So we'd love to see you out there on our usual nights when you get that itch to slaughter our enemies.
There has never been a better time to be a part of our Guild Wars 2 Chapter! Recruitment is at an all time high, Blackgate is eyeing a return to Tier 1 and we're ramping up our strategies for the expected Ws3 changes from Anet.
With the rampant increase in eSport coverage and Season 3 right around the corner, LotD has decided that it is the perfect time to dive full force into an official League of Legends chapter!
League of Legends is a Massive Online Battle Arena type game which lends to a much different style of chapter than LotD is accustomed to. Riot Games has developed a game that is friendly to gamers of every persuasion. It is due to this that LotD has decided an official chapter would greatly appeal to many of its members and also provide an outlet for those that have been looking for a well supported arena game in a well established guild.
This chapter will focus on accommodating all styles of players, whether they be casual or hardcore. With nightly play, LotD will be able to cater to everyone equally, giving all of our players the ability to play together as one guild. For season three, LotD will also field two competitive teams that will be entering various online tournaments and climbing the ranked ladder throughout the year.
Darkfall: Unholy Wars
Unofficial LotD Chapter
Release: December 12th, 2012
After some time and consideration LotD leadership has decided to support a Unofficial Chapter in Darkfall: Unholy Wars. A MMOFPS open world sandbox with full loot, skill based gameplay, sieges, ship battles, and territory control. The Chapter will be lead by a small crew of LotD's core membership, which will be playing at launch on December 12th. Due to the Chapters size our focus will be competitive PVP rather than conquest gameplay. Darkfall: Unholy Wars has been getting a lot of buzz in the gaming community, and should be seeing record launch numbers for a independently published MMOG title. The new Darkfall is almost a completely new game, built on a more advanced game engine. It has been created from the ground up to be more accessible to new players without compromising Darkfall's core features. Long gone are the days of grinding for months just to be competitive. The future of Darkfall and its community looks very promising. Should Darkfall: Unholy Wars and the Unofficial Chapter become a success, LotD might poll membership to see if there is interest in a Official Chapter.
Currently LotD has refocused its efforts in Guild Wars 2 based on the games recent changes and direction. Guild Wars 2 will remain LotD's Primary Official Chapter for the long term.
