Conversation(s) with the Watcher of Time.

Part 1: This is what the Watcher of Time tells you the first time you meet him. Just go on Clockwork island 3 (the one in SW), and move close to the biggest stone in Northern part of island. The dialog will begin unless you are on fight. Of course, just replace my name by yours in the dialogs.

You hear a strange voice in your head, soothing yet disturbing.

"And the cycle completes itself, allowing Garulfo to return safely to my presence. I have been and will be patient, and you will have returned to me once again."

Who are you?

"I am the Watcher of Time. I am the capstone of all temporal events. I am more than everything and less than nothing. I am the icon of the Hero and the Fool."

What is this crazy place?

"This place has always been and will always be Clockwork isle. It is timeless. Here is where the Fool will cause the downfall, and the Hero will find the answers looked for."

"Here is where the Fool met Mastaba, and the Hero found the answers that will be looked for."

What do you mean? I've never been here.

"You have always been, and will always be, here. Here is where everything begins and everything ends equally. All events in time have happened and will happen here".

"Perhaps somedays you will understand the mysteries of time. Perhaps you have already understood, and you do not remember. This is the difference between the Hero and the Fool."

What cycle do you speak of?

"The cycle of time, wherein all things exist and cease to exist. Shall I tell you the story of this time? It has no beginning or end, but it's a good story nonetheless."

Please, tell the story.

"Many times the Fool has come and will come here. The Fool plays an important part as does the Hero. The Fool causes war and destruction, and the Hero causes peace and tranquility."

"Note however, without the cleansing of fire there could be no growth. Both roles are equally essential, one is needed to balance the other."

Who is this Fool you keep talking about?

"The Fool will bring freedom to the imprisonned. One must play the Fool for the cycle to be complete. Perhaps you are the Fool, Hero."

What answers is the Hero looking for?

"The answers will be found here by the Hero, who has found the answers here before. It is very possible that the Fool is also the Hero, and will be the Hero soon. Perhaps you have been the Hero, or the Fool."

Who plays the Hero, or the Fool?

"The roles of the Hero and the Fool have been played by many. Perhaps you will be fortunate enough to play one of these roles. Perhaps you have already played these roles. Perhaps you will again."

"The Fool will find the leader, and will be rewarded for his salvation. The Hero will find the imprisoned, trapped outside of this story, in a land with no time."

"The imprisoned will give to the Hero his own salvation. The Hero will find the leader, and the leader will become imprisoned. The imprisoned will become the Hero, and the Fool is always the Fool."

Where can one find this Land with no time?

"This land will be found here, and has been found here. At the midnight hour on the coldest day, the Hero will open the magic door, and travel to the land of no time."

"The Hero has traveled to this land and has found the imprisoned. The Fool plays no part in the timeless land, unless the Hero is also the Fool."

"I have seen this happen, and will see it happen again."

Please, tell me more of your story.

"It is not just my story, it is your story as well. If one truly wishes, one can play the part of Fool or Hero, it makes no difference. Both roles are vital, and both roles are eternal."

"The amulets you hold are the keys to unlock the magic door to the Land with no time. Watch the figurines closely as they are beacons in the darkness. They will tell you where to go and when."

"Be yea Hero or Fool it does not mater, when you reached the land with no time, you conversed with my alter-presence, as I will be very lonely there. I am sure I will help you there, if you needed it."

"The land with no time can be reached at the midnight hour, when life is waning. Open the magical gate at this time, and it will take you there. Do not stay there long, as you have become trapped before."

"And now, you must go and play your role, as I have nothing left to tell. You have returned and you will return again. Take caution with you, Garulfo. Unless you are the Fool."

Part 2: Now you have all 3 amulets, and you meet the Watcher of Time again.

You hear a strange voice in your head, soothing yet disturbing.

"At least you have returned, Garulfo. I have waited and will wait patiently for your arrival. The cycle must alway be completed."

I have returned, this time you are correct.

"As I was correct last time. You have returned, and will return again, to play your part in time. The eternal cycle of life is one that cannot be broken with ignorance."

"The Fool will play the Hero's part, and the Hero will Play the Fool. This is the way of Time."

Last time you have mentionned something about a Fool.

"Ah yes, I have spoken and will speak of Fools. The Fool will come here to justify, and the Fool has been justified."

"Here is where the Hero comes or answers, and here the Hero has come for answers. Perhaps you are tha Hero, Fool"

What answers is the Hero looking for?

"The answers will be found here by the Hero, who has found the answers here before. It is very possible that the Fool is also the Hero, and will be the Hero soon. Perhaps you have been the Hero, or the Fool."

You were speaking of cycles in time.

"Ah, the eternal cycles of time. Do you wish to hear the story of this time again? I am always eager to tell your story."

Part 3: Now you are in the Land without time, and meet the Alter-Ego of the Watcher of time. This part is recorded in the "Land without time" related page.

Part 4: Now you are back from the Land without time. The dialog is similar to the one of part 2, save that you win 3.333 XPS and that it starts with:

"I thank you, Garulfo, for the time you have spent with me. I will grow so lonely in the Darkness".

Part 5: Under certain conditions, you can obtain some more help from the Watcher of Time... But I will not tell (yet), to keep some interest in game ;-)
