Damn, how to get to the Clockwork Island?

You must first look for Farreli at the Elven Caravan. Chat with him, and ask if he has some jobs for you. He will perhaps propose some delivery work, and, more interesting, "something more important" if you "prove yourself to be a good worker".

Well, you will have to do 5 delivery quests for him (1000 XPs / 500 CPs each). Be patient and do them! If he doesn't have one when you ask for, just end conversation and ask him again till he gets one. Don't be afraid to refuse a delivery work if it's too far away, he will give you another one on request...

When you are back from the 5th delivery, he will propose you to get a interesting piece of parchment, if you answer a riddle. He will give you six clues to answer it:

- "In a place beneath the soil, where the sorrows of many is trapped, carefully hidden by nature busy workers."

- "Where the water runs from the mouth of the beast, distorted by the ripples above."

- "Where the stones rises up to contain the clash of the Titans, seek out the news of the up and coming."

- "At the border of soil and Silt, where the towers have risen to protect the innocent, undiscovered in the captain's quarter."

- "Overgrown and burned by years of seeding and scything, uncover the remains of nature's towers to the clouds."

- "At the welcoming gates amidst the desolate monsters, where you are always welcome but never too safe. Look out the sun scorched bones that defend these within."

You will have to use your knowledge of Athas to get these clues... Note that the order of finding them has no importance. When you have found one or several clues, visit him and ask again for the clues, the one you have found will not be asked again... So you will know if you are right.
