Here are some hints to beat Zydeko. It doesn't work all the time, as there are still some random factors in the fights, but maybe you'll save time that way...

• First move Earth to the Mountains,
• Then move Air to the Silt,
• Attack Dragon in the City with Water,
• Attack Defiler in Desert with Fire.

Meanwhile, Zydeko will be attacking the City with the Preserver if you gained it, or Desert with the Dragon if you have it to. With some luck, you will have won already. Otherwise, keep on attacking the City with the Water or Desert with Fire.

If Zydeko gains 3 territories and you are about to loose, don't waste time, just withdraw, there is no consequences, and start another play (though I don't know if loosing is important. I believe that only victories count).

There is also a random factor that allows Zydeko to win (plenty of times) or loose (sometimes) even if you play the same way again and again. Some people think that this might be based on the player's Intelligence and Wisdom, but it's not proved. Also, you can try to cast Bless and Prayer on yourself prior to play, I'm not sure it helps, but it can't be bad, so why not?
