[IMG] It’s been two weeks since I visited Star Wars: The Old Republic in this column, and it’s clear that two weeks is far too long to stay away from a game that will launch an expansion in less than two months. Much of the information we’ve been begging for has started to flow in, despite the datamining. On the 26th, the [...] This article was published by the word-wranglers at Massively Overpowered. The Capcom site has been updated with the news that its console RPG, Dragon's Dogma, will be heading to PCs everywhere in January via a Steam release. The special "Dark Arisen" edition will come complete with both Xbox 360 and Xbox One controller support, as well as more traditional PC mouse and keyboard support. [IMG] If you’ve been playing Neverwinter on the Xbox One, you’ve had to deal with a bit of update lag. There’s no way around it, really; updates for the PC version have been coming out on the console, but a bit more slowly. The up side, though, is that the delay can lead to things like today’s launch of Neverwinter: Elemental [...] This article was published by the word-wranglers at Massively Overpowered. [IMG] Here’s an interesting peek into an alternate history: Destiny 2 was originally slated to come out in September 2015. This harkens back to Bungie’s original plan to rollout a Destiny franchise. According to MCV, Destiny’s initial announced launch date was September 2013, with a sequel planned for exactly two years later. Destiny was developed under the code-name Project Tiger with the aim of churning out [...] This article was published by the word-wranglers at Massively Overpowered. Of all the games I played at Pax Prime this year, Divinity: Original Sin 2 was hands down the best. Don't get me wrong, I played a lot of amazing things, but playing alongside Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios, things couldn't have gone more wrong in our demo. And I am so glad they did. [IMG] Crowfall is transparent. Not in the sense that you can see right through it, but in the sense that the development process is open and allows players a thorough look behind the curtain. The game is currently in pre-alpha testing, but it’s not hidden behind an NDA even though it’s admittedly very early in the development cycle. How early? Well, [...] This article was published by the word-wranglers at Massively Overpowered. Please review our terms of use for feeds. Continue reading...
[IMG] Albion Online is currently focusing on preparations for its upcoming closed beta, but that didn’t stop Sandbox Interactive from posting a dev blog that highlights a couple of new features. First up are the shrines of Albion, which are basically open world crafting stations that will play an important part in enchanted gear crafting. There are different shrines for offensive, [...] This article was published by the word-wranglers at Massively Overpowered. Please review our terms of use for feeds. Continue reading...
[IMG] It’s both an ending and a new beginning: The Repopulation is closing down one of its test servers today, but this is being done to make way for a new hardcore server. “We are bringing the server down and will be wiping it,” the devs explained back in August. “The server will be repurposed later for a hardcore server. In the [...] This article was published by the word-wranglers at Massively Overpowered. Please review our terms of use for feeds. Continue reading...
[IMG] Ex-Destiny composer Martin O’Donnell has prevailed in a lengthy legal battle with developer Bungie. The company must restore O’Donnell’s stock holdings and pay what it owes its former composer under its profit-sharing plan. O’Donnell, who in addition to writing Destiny’s music, also worked on sound effects, voiceovers, and Bungie’s long-running Halo franchise, was fired by the studio in 2014 over [...] This article was published by the word-wranglers at Massively Overpowered.
